It was another fantastic day at WEF Davos 2019 today!
In the morning, Neelam Chhiber, Co-Founder and Managing Trustee and Jacob Matthew, CEO of Industree Foundation attended the Bain Breakfast for Digital Transformation. CEO of Ikea Jesper Brodin shared some inspiring insight: “”Conscious naiveté is an approach to use when you know that you don’t know. You take the steps forward and the next steps emerge along the way.”
Jacob Matthew, CEO of Industree Foundation, was thrown into the isolation cell, the middle door in the photograph below, at this visceral experience of a refugee camp. People who had experienced these camps and the simulation said that Jacob experienced 14% of the stress that refugees experience everyday for an average of 26 years. Jacob said “I lost sense of time, agency and humanity in a mere hour. It strengthens my resolve to extend creative million to refugee communities.” Such a powerful way to understand the conditions of these camps!
Neelam and Jacob then attended the Power of Nations session. Following the session, they met with the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Dr. Abiy Ahmed and he told them to “Keep the pace, keep the pace, keep pushing. We will support you” on our handloom farm to fashion project in association with ITC. Thank you for the support!
On to another great day at WEF Davos 2019. Stay tuned for a recap on day five tomorrow!
